My name is Jenny Cantun. I am the owner of Epic Mayan Tours. My family and I are originally from the Northern part of Belize, where folklore, culture, tradition and family bond blooms like in no other place in the country. My greatest inspiration has been my mother, Felicita Cantun. She has worked tirelessly in our community to raise awareness of our beautiful Maya culture in our home district. She is well known in Belize for obtaining the “Woman of Culture” of the year in 2015.

My mother has coached many youths and is admired by many, especially by me. She has awakened a passion for our Maya culture and made us realize that it doesn’t matter where we come from, but how far we want to go.

My mom and her Balam Pok ta Pok team (Mesoamerican Ballgame), represented Belize and brought home the world cup of Pok ta Pok in 2017. She also has a well-trained cultural dance group that performs throughout the country of Belize. Her work makes me proud to be of Maya descent and gives me more determination to reach my own dreams.

This is why archaeological sites, such as Altun Ha, Cahal Pech and Xunantunich are our specialities. We take great pride and enthusiasm in having the privilege to take guest to the places where our ancestors played, worked, grew and lived.

Our rich Maya culture allows us to take you on authentic tours to the underworld called Xibalba (cave tubing) and share the great stories from our ancestors. We take great joy in showing you the flowstones, sparkly crystals, waterfalls and the environment our ancestors also lived in.

With our years of experience in the field, as tour guides, we have now been blessed with our own company, Epic Mayan Tours. We have accomplished so much under a short time. We look forward to wrapping you and your loved ones in our Maya kindness and hospitality when you visit Belize.

Yours truly,

Jenny Cantun
