About the adventure
This is a wow tour, the view is spectacular, the sound of nature is beautiful, birds singing, monkeys howling. The wind brushing through the trees as we walk through the ball court where the Maya people once played the exciting and intense game on special occasions to please their gods.
This tour is a unique experience because we get to see the spider monkeys and black howler monkeys. We see wildlife in their natural habitat. We get to cross the Mopan River with a Hand-Cranked River Ferry and climb large Maya made structures. We get to admire the lush jungle scenery and even see part of our neighbour, Guatemala, all the way from the top of El Castillo.
A walk in the site museum allows us to see the pottery, tools and more Maya artifacts that were discovered at the site. Xunantunich has several stelas which tell great tales of the rulers and people that once lived there.
